National Anthem Mix Up!

During the international break we witnessed the South American Qualifiers which could possibly be one of the most passionate qualifiers around the world. The national anthem of ones country is not only a symbol of honor but of pride. But what happens when you are about to sing your anthem and they play the wrong one? Yes, this is exactly what happened during the Ecuador vs Venezuela game. Ecuador was the visiting team and as they were introduced and they were about to sing their anthem, the wrong anthem was played. Instead of the Ecuadorian national anthem the Mexican national anthem was played. This not only caused confusion between the Ecuadorian players but it also caused an uproar between the citizens of Ecuador. Not only was it disrespectful but it also was embarrassing for the visiting team. With a confused reaction the players did not do much but look at each other and stand there. The Venezuelan Soccer Federation has apologized for the inconvenience and their mistake. However many Ecuadorians are still bothered by what took place. Would you be bothered if they played your wrong national anthem? Do you find it disrespectful? Should there be punishment for this or should players just move on with their lives?
