Comets Lose Tough Game Against Spartans
The Comets looked to continue their winning streak on Tuesday as they took on the Paramus Spartans. However the comets lacked something to bring them the victory. The Spartans overcame the Comets 3-0. This is the second time this season the Comets have lost to Paramus after a 5-0 loss the first time at home. One thing Paramus was good at was taking advantages of their opportunities. All of the goals scored by the Spartans were off Comet mistakes. They wasted no time in taking advantage of sloppy Comets defending at times. The comets lacked attacking however there were various impressive plays from the Comets that went unfinished. Their were a numerous amount of through balls where the ball simply had to be pushed or headed in, however the Comets failed to do so. Despite the loss there were various impressive performances. Young Colombian right back Juan Carlos was hands down one of the best players for the comets. Juan Carlos fought every ball, sprinted back, and played a smart defensive game. The young sophomore is determined to demand a spot on the Comet starting 11. Andres Pestana also showed a strong and smart defensive game. Both defenders played a strong game however it wasn't enough to give the Comet a victory. This loss brings Hackensack's record to 5-9. The Comets will look to bounce back at home on Friday as they take on Northern Highlands at 7 P.M under the lights! Following Fridays game the Comets will play Rutherford on Sunday at 10 A.M at Tyrone Field in Rutherford in the next stage of the Bergen Cup. Despite the Comets record they are hungry to prove themselves as a competitive team and prove themselves in the Bergen Cup. The comets are said to be a dangerous team despite their record and should not be underestimated. With a little more heart and fight in them, the comets could turn this season around.
