Comets fall to Indian Hills

The comets were back in action tonight as they looked for their second win this season. Coming from a 1-0 win over Ridgewood the comets looked to take a point on the road. The game started with the dynamic sophomore duo with Molina and Gomez up top looking to find a quick goal. Both strikers are hungry to make their mark this season and prove themselves. At the beginning they managed to start good opportunities and pester the Indian Hills defense. The comet defense played a strong game however the calls were not on their side tonight. The comets struggled to play their game due to the poor calls being made against them. Despite the calls the comets kept fighting to win the game. Erik Lema took the chances he had and one hit off the post. Juan Pablo the young colombian, new to the team played a smart game looking to create chances for the team to excel. Indian Hills opened up the score after a break away and a rebound. The senior keeper managed to make a great first save on a 1v1, however the rebound was put in the back of the net. The play started after the center back was tripped and no call was given leading to the 1v1 break away. As the comets fought back a good opportunity was constructed leading to an amazing strike by Shayan Sharoudi from outside the box into the upper 90. The goal stunned the crowd and with that they managed to pull 1-1 at half. In the second half the team continued to struggle with basic passing and began to become slightly sloppy. The occasional chances were also created but nothing close. On a sloppy pass Indian Hills managed to get a break away and with a cross Indian Hills managed to header the ball and bury it in the back of the net. After the second goal the comets became frustrated with the calls and the game. The game began to get more intense and the comets looked for any chance to tie it up. Sadly that chance never came. After frustrating calls Gomez was sent off by the Ref for an unknown reason. The comets will look to comeback saturday as they take on the Paramus Spartans and look to level out their record. Until then stay tuned to see what happens next with the Comets. For more live tweets follow me @ayochelo! Feedback is appreciated positive or negative.
