On Monday night the comets beat Tenafly 1 - 0 with late heroics from junior Hisham Badawi. Badawi managed to score the only goal of the game, which led to the second victory this season for the comets. Despite their bump in the road, this win has given the comets more hopes to follow the winning path. "I felt like my team needed me to step up because our offense was struggling so I did." stated Badawi. I asked Badawi to describe the exact moment of the goal and he simply responded "It was a header off a long throw by Peter. Their was 8 minutes left in the game and I was playing center back at that point in the game." After scoring last night how does this motivate the team to get back to a winning form? "Well it made us realize that we could take on any team at any given time, it's just a matter of how bad we want it, and how much we are willing to put into it." The comets will look to snag another win on the road when they play Demarest on Saturday at 11 am. I asked Badawi how he could help his team and bring them to an elite level? He replied "Mostly by just doing my part and not trying to be a star. But still stepping up when necessary, like in last night's game and helping to motivate my teammates with my voice and my play." Before finishing up the interview I asked Badawi if he had anything to say for the readers/fans? Badawi responded "Just thanks for all the support and ill be sure to do everything I can to turn this season around for my team and the fans." Dont forget to support the comets as they look for their third win this season when they take on Demarest. For anymore news and updates follow me on twitter @ayochelo . Untill then Lets go Comets!!
